About Koru Holistic Counseling
We believe wholeness and healing begins at the root.
We recognize that body’s functioning influences overall wellness. All physical systems are interconnected and impact how we experience ourselves. This is one of the primary components of holistic functional mental health. We will work with you to explore current functioning and needs and provide you with recommendations and referrals. We believe it is important to collaborate with a variety of wellness professionals to address different areas of need.
We utilize mind-body approaches in order to provide inner support, process blocks, old patterns and embody new experiences. We utilize information from the latest research on the mind and the body to craft our holistic approaches.
We work to support growth and healing through experience, embodiment. Since we learn through experience, we believe that it is paramount to create new experiences in order to generate new possibilities in life. We don’t just talk, we work from an experiential manner. A manner that is interactive, explorative, self-attuned, reflective and imaginative. Some approaches could include somatics (noticing sensations in your body as information), mindfulness, expressive art, movement, yoga, visualization, writing.
In the journey toward wellness and wholeness some other therapeutic approaches incorporated are: Depth therapy exploring unconscious patterns and beliefs, self-expression for release, therapeutic processing of traumatic or developmental based memories, beliefs and behavioral or attachment patterns, existential psychology, Buddhist psychology, mindfulness and self-empowerment.
Whether working with individuals, couples or groups we support deeper self-awareness, healing, connection and meaningful transformation, Koru Holistic Counseling uses this interconnected, well-rounded approach to uncover root causes and cultivate whole-self wellness. Clients can discover balance and clarity, a sense of growth and transformation, a greater sense of resilience, well-being, satisfaction and conscious connection to self and others.
